fyp suggestions, anyone?
is there anyone who will comfort me saying that i will not vomit blood and guts by doing merlin for my fyp, with the primary sources being geoffrey of monmouth's vita merlini, le morte d'arthur and chretien de troyes? i didn't take arthurian lit last sem, why the hell did i not? i hate timetable clashes. then again after looking at the syllabus they concentrated primarily on arthur/launcelot/grail, which is not that related to my possible choice of topic. wonder whether i'll regret it.
i've been adviced to stick to what im already familiar with and enjoy - chaucer. i think so too, but then that'll mean that my knowledge of medieval lit is centred primarily on one man's work, with a couple o' pokes into langland, mallory, pearl poet etc. not very cool is it? then again, since i know i'm never gonna do masters in lit, why bother so much with expanding my repertoire, why not just concentrate on the one author whom i've scored well in?
but that's not what learning is about, is it? damn grading. it interferes with my learning.
